Age 61 of Roseburg, OR, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Butch was born in Roseburg, on March 15, 1952; he was preceded in death by his parents Emmett Sr. and Jacqueline Hogan of Roseburg. He was a custodial supervisor for Douglas County for over 20 years. Butch was an accomplished musician; he played music in Roseburg and around the state for many years. Music and family were his passion. "Papa Butch" will always be remembered for his famous hot dogs, stinky juice, and overall kindness. He was truly a second father to all four of his grandchildren. He took great joy in being at every activity his grandchildren participated in. Butch is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years and his true love of over 50 years, Kathy Hogan; his daughters: Haley and Chris Lansing and their two children Lauryn and Maximus Lansing of Roseburg; Emiley and Monte Ketchum and their two children Libbey and Ellie Ketchum of Roseburg; sister, Jackie and Mike Wines of Longview, WA; sister-in-law, Patricia Fairchild of Roseburg; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends. There will be a celebration of Butch's life at Umpqua Community College Center Stage, on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emmett "Butch" Hogan Scholarship fund at U.S. Bank.
