Erma Lee Talburt

March 17, 1933 — September 19, 2011

Erma Lee Talburt Erma was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1933, and died peacefully with her family by her side on September 19, 2011 at the age of 78. She was born and raised in Kansas, but lived most of her life in Roseburg, Oregon. Erma was a wonderful, caring, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and mom-in-law to a family that adored her. She loved her family with her whole heart. Her husband John Talburt "Jay" was her everything. They spent all their time together - rarely separated for any length of time. She was very proud of her kids Sharla and Gordon Smith of Roseburg, Juleva and Randy Peterson of Washington, Pam (Hein) Wiley of Oklahoma, Ron and Caryn Hein of Roseburg, and Curt and Gena Talburt of Washington. Erma never stopped being a mom, she loved it. She thought all her grandkids were the funniest. Erma could tell a story about any one of them and crack up laughing even years later. She couldn't get enough of them. Her grandkids; Bryon and Mariah Smith, Brett and Kristen Smith, Kyla Hein and Chris, Matt Hein and Kelly, Jeffry and Nancie Peterson, Garrett and Jake Talburt, and Jeremy Holmes were the joys of her life. Erma was a fabulous cook. All the grandkids where always asking for "fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy" and she never let them down. Her fried chicken was like no other! She had just start getting to enjoy her great grandchildren, Kendal Smith, Blair and Dane Smith. They kept her going and she thought that no one could take care of them like she could. Erma wanted to see them until the very end. We hope you always know how much your Grammy loved you! Erma had five sisters and one brother, all from Kansas. She also had a wonderful extended family, in-laws Bill and Jill Talburt, Bob and Janice Talburt, Jim and Eileen Talburt, and a sister-in-law Betty Johnson. You Erma Lee Talburt will be missed so very much. We will love you always. A visitation was held on Tuesday September 20, 2011 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Private cremation rites will be held. Please visit Erma's website at: wilsonschapeloftherosesfh.com
