Ernest B. Madsen

ERNEST "ERNIE" BRIX MADSEN 79 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 in a local hospital. He was born August 8, 1931 in Oakland, Oregon to Brix and Marie (Lund) Madsen. Ernie graduated from Oregon State University. He played football for 4 years and continued to be a Beaver fan. Ernie served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army. He married Elsa Fjeldall who preceded him in death after 26 years of marriage in 1998. Ernie moved from Nampa, California to Roseburg, Oregon 40 years ago. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta, Roseburg Elks Lodge 326 and Beaver Alumni. Survivors include his sons Hans Madsen and his wife Betsy and Jens Madsen and his wife Tonya; grandchildren Brix, Katie and Jackie Madsen; brother Norm Madsen and his wife Lisa; nieces and nephews Annette and her husband Maja, Glenda, Brent and his wife Mary. Ernie is also survived by his dog Bobo, his faithful companion. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 12:00 pm at the Roseburg Elks Lodge. Private cremation rites have been held.
