Eula Mae (Strickling) Wallen age 102, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014, in Roseburg, Oregon. Eula was born October 31, 1911, in Lookingglass, Oregon, to William (Pa), and Anna (Bessie) Strickling. She had one older brother, Homer Strickling, and one younger sister, Marie Firman. Eula had two sons and a daughter: Jim and Dick St. Onge, and Marlene Welker. Eula was married to Walter Wallen from 1958 until his death in 1999. She had nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Her favorite hobby was embroidering quilts and table cloths, which she gave to friends and family as gifts.
She was a member of the Open Bible Church in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
At the end of her life she lived at Lisa Black's Foster Home which, for six months, she called her home.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. A viewing will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Following the service she will be buried with her husband at Roseburg Memorial Gardens. No reception is planned.
