Everett Paul Allen

February 21, 1930 — April 29, 2018

Everett Paul Allen was born an only child to Paul and Clara Allen on February 21, 1930. Everett grew up in the small town of Vestal, New York near Binghamton. He was active in many school and civic music groups. He received many awards and accolades for his music.  He was a life-long advocate of the Boy Scouts.
After graduating high school, Everett enlisted in the Army Air Corps, soon to be called the Air Force. He was stationed at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona as a member of the 541st Air Force Band. After 3 years in the Air Force, Everett moved back to Vestal.
While in Vestal, he worked many jobs, but his favorite was the Binghamton State Hospital. Everett soon met the love of his life, Agnes. They were married in 1958. They made their home in a tiny town of Wheeler. They were both employed in the medical field, Agnes as an RN and Everett as a nursing assistant. They adopted their son in 1961.
In 1964, the Allen’s left the Bath VA Hospital and transferred to the Roseburg VA Hospital. Everett worked there until retirement in 1985.Their daughters were born in 1964, and 1966. It was during this time that Everett was a Douglas County Sheriff Reserve Officer and later a Scoutmaster for Troop 4. He also worked for Douglas Residential Training facility. Everett was always a religious man and was active in his church affiliations.
Everett loved cameras and model aircraft. He also loved vintage cars, and was a regular at many shows over the years, always taking pictures. He and his wife loved camping and spent time exploring the local areas.
Everett passed on the morning of April 29. He went peacefully to meet his wife of 59 years. He is survived by son Mark (Rebecca), daughter Karen Parret (Brian), daughter Rhonda Lieb (Tom), grandchildren Amanda. Sarah and Ian Moore; Katielynn and Joseph Parret and Rachael and David Lieb plus his beloved dog Cocoa.
A viewing will be held at Chapel of the Roses in Sutherin, Friday, May 4 from 10am-12pm. The memorial service will be Saturday, May 5 at 4:00 pm at the Calapooia Free Methodist Church, located at 333 SW Church Rd., Sutherlin.
