Florence L. Murphy

FLORENCE L. MURPHY 88, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in a residential memory care home. She was born March 31, 1923 in Seattle, Washington to Charles E. and Dorothy V. Winslow. Florence moved to Roseburg in 1962. Florence worked in area markets for many years, mainly at Byrds and then Goves until she retired. She enjoyed being a seamstress, painting, gardening, yard work, ceramics and watching her hummingbirds. While she was able she attended the Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter Irene J. Murphy of Myrtle Creek and Vinnie Wickers of Roseburg; son Thomas W. Murphy Jr. also of Roseburg; 7 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents Charles Winslow and Dorothy Gowin; daughter Mary Ann Howard; son Daniel A. Murphy; 1 sister and 1 brother. Private cremation rites have been held. The family would like to thank Manor House and Amedisys Hospice for their comfort and care.
