Floyd left our world to join other loved ones on Friday evening at home knowing that he had battled and won many medical issues over the past five years; with his most courageous fight being the past six months after being diagnosed with cancer. He did so with a strong heart, family love and the exceptional care of his wife, Carol. He was born July 29, 1949 in Roseburg, OR to Betsy and George Daniels, Floyd was an enrolled member of the Grand Ronde Tribe. He was a 1967 graduate of Douglas High Shool and then joined the United States Army in 1968, serving a tour in Viet Nam. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to the Douglas County area. On October 31, 1971 he married his first love, Rebecca "Becky" Bagshaw. They raised two children together, Jeff and Sara, who were their pride and joy. Becky passed away in 1999 after 27 years of marriage. Floyd was then blessed to find his second love, and married Carol Blake on February 16, 2002. Floyd spent most of his working career in the construction business having worked for R.E.Noah for 27 years. He left the work that he loved earlier than anticipated due to medical reasons. Floyd enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors and sharing them with both family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and riding ATVs. His favorite road trips were to the coast. Always proud of his son and daughter and their accomplishments, he found great pride in his grandchildren and attending their sporting events; whether it was basketball, wrestling or softball. During softball season, you would always find him at Gaddis Park giving them his full support. Floyd was generally a soft spoken man, but could be mischievous and loved to play pranks on both family and co-workers whenever possible. Floyd is survived by his devoted wife, Carol, son and daughter in law, Jeff and Jeni Daniels; daughter and son in law, Sara and Rod Thompson; step daughter and husband, Shannon and Tim Adams; grandchildren, Bailey and Brett Daniels; Alyssa and Makayla Rappe', Emma Thompson; brother and sister in law, Joe and Shari Bagshaw; nephew, Paul (Judy) Bagshaw; niece, Tracy Scott and many friends. Floyd will be greatly missed by his family and those that he touched throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Community Cancer Center or a charity of your choice.
