Fred G. Pilger

Fred G. Pilger, 93, of Reedsport passed away on Sunday December 5, 2010 in Reedsport,Oregon. Fred was born July 16, 1917 in Waltham Township, Vermont to Martin and Mary (Weisenbach)Pilger He joined the Navy in 1935 and was honorably discharged in 1939. Fred worked in the construction profession as a carpenter for many years. He was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed many years fishing on the Umpqua River. He married Virginia L. Churchill who precedes him in death. Survivors include a son, Paul Pilger of Bakersfield California, two daughters, Kay Gause of Zillah,Washington, and Dr Ann French of Alamogordo, New Mexico, along with 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. At Fred's request no services are planned. Those who wish may make Memorial contributions to the Lower Umpqua Hospital,Extended Care Unit, 600 Ranch Road, Reedsport, OR 97467.
