Our hero, beloved father Galen Glenn Hull ,85, of Winchester passed away on February 10, 2017. He was born on February 27, 1931 in Douthat, Oklahoma to Clarence Hank and Opal Hull. While in the USAF he was known as G G Hull. Galen was raised in Oklahoma and graduated from Pritcher Ok. High School. He worked in a coal mine and then joined the United States Air Force. He traveled around the world 2 times during his career retiring as a Master Sergeant with over 20 years of service at Altus AFB Oklahoma. During his career GG and the family lived in San Bernardo and Midwest City California along with Altus AFB, Oklahoma. While on active duty he received a National Defense Service Medal, and numerous Good Conduct Medals. He was selected to be a crew member of the Super Guppy aircraft that flew parts for NASA that carried parts for space vehicles. We were very proud that he was selected. While station in Oklahoma he had 2 bird dogs and enjoyed hunting. Galen also enjoyed playing golf; fishing; football, and mostly he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. After he retired he moved to Winston to be close to his family, mother, brother and sisters. He was employed by Roseburg Lumber. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Olive and his parents, brothers in law Jade Myers, Jack Hill, Bill O'Bryon. Bob Smith and sister in law Darlen Smith. Surviving Galen is his daughter Connie (Steve) Woods of Roseburg; sons Galen (Pamela) Hull of Manistee Michigan, William (Sally) Hull of Reno Nevada. He is also survived by his sisters Peggy Meyers, Wanda Hill of Roseburg; Elizabeth (Roy) Shuck of Tulsa, OK, Marilyn Edwards of Hawaii. Savories include his bother Kenneth (Karen) Hull of Lincoln City, OR. Also surviving is his grandchildren: Cory Hull, Hank Hull, Samatha Hull, Marshal Hull, Oliver Hull, Glenn Schweitzer, Melissa Gatewood, Sky Schweitzer, great grandchildren , Katelynn Hull, Ashley June Hull, Dylan Hull, Christian Schweitzer, Dustin Hade, Myshia, Lexie, Jazlynn, Taniya Ford, Lilly, Anne Grinde, Maverick, Wyatt, Stetson Renner, great great grandchildren Greysun Hade, Brayden Bruder, Calvin Kuhlman. In addition he leaves behind special friends Bud and LaFonda Freeman and numerous others. Donations may be offered to the Cystic Fibrosis and Cancer Society.
