Gerald was born August 17, 1947, and passed away August 8, 2018, at home surrounded by loving family.
Gerald served in the Army for four years during the Vietnam War.
He loved all the children, grandchildren and in-laws as if they were his own. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking to pass his leisure time, but it would have been a little less sweet without his love for chocolate.
He retired from Roseburg Forest Products after 45 years of loyal service. In his later years, he loved trips to the coast with his wife and grandchildren, as well as family BBQs down by the creek. Gerald was a loving, kind hearted person who always helped those who needed it. If he had a spare quarter he would give and never ask for it to be paid back.
This loving father, beloved husband, and caring grandfather is survived by his wife Leona (Norris) Edwards of Sutherlin, OR; daughter, Melissa Edwards of Anchorage, AK; son, Shawn-wife Lerma Edwards of Federal Way, WA; son, William Edwards and wife Joella Price of Roseburg, OR; son, Chuck and wife Tammy Norris of Sutherlin, OR; son, Raymond Norris of Drain, OR; son, Samuel Norris of Sutherlin, OR; son, Travis and wife Danyal Norris of Rice Valley, OR; grandchildren, Katie Edwards of Federal Way, WA, Paul, Michael, Patrick, and Josephine Aquino of Federal Way, WA, Joey Edwards of Anchorage, AK, Ronan and Mason Edwards of Roseburg, OR, Jessie and wife Samantha Smith of Sutherlin, OR, Ashley Norris and fiancé Frank Renn III of Winston, OR, Carlede Thomas of Umpqua, OR, Tamara and Layla Norris of Rice Valley, OR; and five great-grandchildren. His siblings are his brother, Olen and wife Debby Edwards of Myrtle Creek, OR; sister, Loraine and husband Laverne Mallard of Myrtle Creek, OR; brother, James Edwards; sister, Marlyn and husband Don Carter of Winston, OR; brother, Elmer Edwards of Coos Bay, OR; as well as too numerous nieces and nephews to list.
