Kammeyer, Gilbert William "Papa" - age 84, of Roseburg passed away Thursday November 27. 2014 peacefully at his home. He was born May 8, 1930 in Sauvie Island Oregon to William and Lida Kammeyer. He moved to Drain at the age of 16 to begin logging with his Uncle Charlie Saxton. This is where he met his wife of 50 years, Patsy Ruth. In 1955 they moved their 3 small children to Roberts Creek Road. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, visiting and telling stories with friends and family, but most importantly he will be remembered for his love and dedication to working on his family ranch. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Donna Kammeyer, his children and spouces, Vickie and Dan Murphy, Stephanie Kammeyer, and Reggie and Brenda Kammeyer, six grandchildren, Chad and his wife Tracy Anderson, Jake Drusky, Clinton Agee, Sarah Kammeyer, Hank Drusky and Valerie Kammeyer, five great grandchildren, Alyssa Drusky, Logan Anderson, Jack Anderson, Audrey Anderson and Peyton Hollamon, two sisters and their spouses, Helen and Theron Gahr, and LaVelle and Rogers Means, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife Patsy and his father and mother. A memorial service will be held Wenesday, December 3, 2014 at 1 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. He will be laid to rest privately next to Patsy at the Kammeyer Family Ranch. A Celetbration of life will be held in May 2015.
