Glenn D Webb

February 2, 1932 — March 23, 2018

Glenn was born in Popular Bluff, MO in 1932.  He married Gracie Griffin at the age of 20, in 1952 while home from basic training.  After serving in the US Army in Korea he returned home to Poplar Bluff where his first baby girl, Lola, was born in 1954 and later Glenda in 1957.After a few years of farming he moved to Hood River to work in the orchards.  Two families moving in an old pickup truck. Lean times and pesticides convinced them to move to Roseburg to work in the mills in 1961.  His first son was born in 1962, Gary, who he lost 16yrs later.  The last child, John, was born in 1969.Glenn worked at Champion before it closed and Roseburg Lumber that became Roseburg Forest Products.   He worked in the mills for 33yrs before retiring in 1994.Glenn was known for his kind and giving nature.  He lived by the rule his mom taught him, if you don't have anything nice to say about something then don't say anything at all.  He was a man of his word.  If a promise was given, it was kept.   He was quick to help others but slow to ask for help.  He never wanted to be a burden.  He was greeted all around town as a friend. He never met a stranger and he never looked down on anyone. He loved to deer hunt in the fall and fishing at Diamond Lake but most of all he loved spending time with family and drives in the country.  He was a kind and gentle soul and he will be greatly missed.
