Hazel Irene Olson

Hazel Irene Olson passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018. She was born to Roy & Jennie (Chambers) McKenzie, on July 24, 1920. She had just celebrated her 98th birthday. She married Ray Olson on June 25, 1940 and had celebrated 67 years before his passing on July 26, 2007. Hazel worked as a medical secretary for two local surgeons before her retirement in 1977. Family was the most important thing to Hazel's life. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray and her grandson Jeff Lane. Hazel is survived by son, Loren (Carolyn) Olson, of Tucson AZ, Daughter, Joyce (Gerald) Barker, of Roseburg OR. Grandchildren: Rob (Teresa) Lane, Cassel CA, Elisa (Paul) Tobin, Bothell WA, Aaron Olson, Irving TX. Great-Grandchildren: Brad (Brittany) Lane, Phoenix AZ, Kristy (Mark) Hueners, Redmond OR, Taylor Tobin, Seattle WA. Great-Great-Grandchildren" Nathan Lane, Kayleb Hueners, Brynlee lane. Also Nieces & Nephews and many wonderful friends. Heartfelt thanks Dr. Joel Lee and his staff for the wonderful care they provided Hazel since 1978.Thanks from the bottom of our hearts to Deloris and her staff at Taylor House for the wonderful care you provided her. Her life was comfortable and loving because of you. Thanks to Corinna and Amedisys for the wonderful care you provided. you made her final days easier.Hazel's service will be Friday, August 3, 2018 at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses at 2:00 PM. There will be a Memorial Reception at Elmer's Banquet Room immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to American Legion Baseball, PO Box 1294, Roseburg OR 97470.
