Helen R. Brink was born on September 21, 1928 in Sylvania, Pennsylvania to Ernest and Lulu Ripley. Helen passed away on July 4th, 2015 with her loving family by her side.
Helen married her high school sweetheart Roland (Sonny) Brink on January 25, 1947. They raised three children Sandy, Bill and Nancy. She was adored by her grandchildren David, Becky, Donovan, Melissa, Beckie and Judy; and so loved by her great-grandchildren Rainy, Natalee, Meagan and Zachary.
She worked as a supervisor at Roseburg Forest Products until her retirement in 1991.
Helen enjoyed gardening and watching her birds while sitting on her back porch swing. She looked forward to her weekly "play days' with her daughters. Putting jigsaw puzzles together was her winter pastime.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Sonny, parents Ernest and Lulu, her sister Shirley Noll, son Bill and sons-in-law Jim Gifford and Ed Pahl.
She is survived by her daughters Sandy (Gifford) Swift (Larry) and Nancy Pahl, daughter-in-law Shirley Brink, her grandchildren David (Cindy) Gifford, Becky (Glenn) Dold, Donovan Brink, Melissa Dickey, Beckie (Trent) Turk and Judy (Steve) Palmer, great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, nephews and close friends Jay and Bonnie.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 14th at 3:00 p.m. at the Roseburg VA National Cemetery Pavilion.
