INEZ "MARIAN" BERNICE SASSER
Marian passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at the age of 86 at Callahan Village in Roseburg, Oregon. She was born July 28, 1931 to Katherine and Harley Joslin in Portland, Oregon. Marian's father being a machinist/supervisor in the canner industry move around quite often when she was young. In northeastern Oregon she met the love of her life, Keith and in 1949 they were married. After having three children, Marian and Keith moved to Roseburg in 1962. Marian worked for the A&W on West Harvard Ave, later for Fairhaven Variety Store and worked as a tax consultant for a number of years. Keith worked for Douglas County Lumber Company and then later Roseburg Lumber Company. Marian was very active in the community. She taught Sunday School, cub scout leader and 4-H cooking instructor. In 1990 Marian was the Melrose Grange Member of the year. She was also a member of Westside Christian Church. Survivors include her son Monty and his wife Debbie of Salem; daughter Nanette and her husband Del Fugate of Myrtle Creek; son-in-law Larry Snyder of Roseburg; five grandsons Lance, Zane, Ethan, Chad and Reece; one great grandson Liam plus a large extended family and many friends who loved her. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Keith; daughter Deborah and great granddaughter Brittany. She will be surely missed by many who knew her.
