IRVINE OLIVER SAMPSON 95 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Monday, August 20, 2012. He was born September 3, 1916 in Billings, Montana to Isaac O. and Bertha L. (Schwaderer) Sampson. The Sampson family moved several times and ended in Hood River, Oregon. Irvine was also known as Irv, Sam, Sammy and best known as Bill. He graduated from Hood River High School and went to work for Pacific Power and Light. Bill worked in White Salmon, Washington, Goldendale, Washington, Hood River, Oregon, Yakima, Washington, The Dalles, Oregon and Roseburg, Oregon where he retired after 44 years. In 1938 he married Beulah Ellen Bolton and to this union 3 daughters were born. Beulah preceded Bill in death in March 1967. He later married Harriett Morse who also preceded Bill in death. Bill married Daisalie Brown. He was a lifetime member of the West Side Fire Dept in Hood River, Oregon. Survivors include his wife Daisalie Sampson; daughters Joy Veloni of Portland, Oregon and her daughters Richele and Rhonda; Kay Arbuckle of Hood River, Oregon and children Debra and Carl; Lea Driskill of Yakima, Washington and her sons Tom and Chad; stepdaughters Gail Fery of Salem and her sons Brett and Brian; Donna Maerz of Merced, California and her children Valerie and Mitchell; Bonnie Gauer of Roseburg and her daughter Gilli; stepson Charles Brown of Roseburg, Oregon and his children Corrine and Clinton; sisters-in-laws Georgia Sampson of Houston, Texas, Dees Krog of Eugene, Oregon, Johnette Wilson of Portland, Oregon and Bonnie Ullstrup of Roseburg, Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. At Bill's request no service will be held. Private cremation rites have been held.
