Jackie Howard "Jack" Whitten

January 21, 1946 — November 28, 2017

Jackie "Jack" Howard Whitten, age 71, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. After several years, Jack finally lost his battle with Parkinson's disease and Lewy Body Dementia.

Jack was born January 21, 1946, in Malvern, Arkansas, to Howard and Verna Whitten. He moved to Roseburg with his parents in 1949. He attended all levels of school in the Roseburg area, graduating from Roseburg High School with the Class of 1964. He then went on to college at Oregon State University graduating in 1968, with a BA degree in business. He became a Financial Advisor with Lincoln Financial Group and worked in that capacity for over 45 years.

Jack enjoyed deer and elk hunting, as well as collecting and shooting guns. He was also a life-long Beaver fan.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Howard, and his mother, Verna. Jack is survived in life by his brother, Dennis and his wife, Margaret Whitten; niece, Jennifer Gregory; great-nephew, Jordan Gregory; and great-niece, Alyssa Gregory. Jack has several surviving aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the country; as well as long- time friend and supporter, Judy Bagshaw, who worked beside him for 23 years and whom he felt confident in taking over his business when health issues kept him from working.

Jack will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. We rejoice that Jack will now be with our Lord and probably be looking down on Saturdays yelling "Go Beavs!"

A service will be held at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg, OR, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 1 p.m. Please visit www.wilsonschapeloftherosesfh.com to leave the family fond memories and condolences.
