Jane Elizabeth O’Sullivan, 89, of Canyonville, Oregon, died peacefully on December 25, 2018 at Brookdale, in Roseburg, Oregon. Born November 3, 1929 in Riverton, Oregon, she is predeceased by her parents, Leonard Leslie and Lillie May Sell. She was also predeceased by her late husband, John Buckley O’Sullivan of Riddle, Oregon, their daughter Melinda Jane O’Sullivan and her brother, Leonard Leslie Sell, Jr.
Jane and John moved to Riddle, Oregon in 1955 where they lived until John retired in 1985. After his retirement they lived in their RV and enjoyed traveling between Arizona, Oregon and Alaska until his death on December 31st, 1997.
Jane was a homemaker living in Canyonville with her partner Jerry O’Sullivan until she moved to Brookdale, an Alzheimer’s Care facility, three years ago. She loved camping, hunting and fishing but her true passion was painting. She was a fixture at the Business and Professional Women’s Christmas Fair for many years and was well known for her Tole painting.
Jane is survived by her three children. Her sons Michael John O’Sullivan of Roseburg and John Leslie (Amy Smith) O’Sullivan of Glide, Oregon and daughter Sarah May (Terry) Clark of Myrtle Creek, Oregon and by six grandchildren Ryan (Shere Quinn) O’Sullivan of Glide, Oregon, Katherine Ann (Joseph) Clark-McClain of Ohio, Jason (Yukiyo Sato) Clark of Kasukaee, Japan, and Kristopher O’Sullivan, Kyle O’Sullivan and Kari O’Sullivan all of Seattle; five great-grandchildren Elyce O’Sullivan (Ryan), Kai and Anna Clark (Jason), Amethyst O’Sullivan (Kristopher), and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her partner of many years Jerry O’Sullivan of Canyonville, Oregon and his son Patrick (Valerie Babcock) O’Sullivan and their children Tori, Cody (Ronan), Kaylee and Madison O'Sullivan; her brother Mitchel (Carmen Waggle) Sell of Tri-City, Oregon; her sisters Dorothy Warren-Brown and Billie Leon Sell-Wooldrige of Eugene, Oregon.
The family wishes to thank all those who lovingly cared for Jane at Brookdale through her journey with Alzheimers. For those that have known Jane, her graveside service will be held at Riddle Cemetery on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1pm. A reception will follow the graveside service at Sarah and Terry Clark’s home to share memories of her life, her sense of humor and her love of family and friends.
