Jean Marie Schulz

Jean was born on their farm in Kilkenny, Minnesota on August 10, 1933 and passed away of congestive heart failure Monday, February 7, 2011 at the age of 77. In 1952 Jean worked as a waitress at Whimpy's Pantry where she met Don, the love of her life and they were soon married in September, 1953. In 1957 they moved to Fairbanks, Alaska with their three children and later there were three additional children. Jean stayed home and raised her children until they were all in school and then went to work at Pinska's Clothing for 5 years. She then went to work across the street at Woolworths as the bookkeeper for the next 15 years. In 1984 Jean and Don decided to retire and move to Roseburg, Oregon where they came out of their brief retirement and ran Roseburg Skyways where Jean was the bookkeeper and weather observer for Don for the next 10 years. She is survived by her children Bruce, Phillip and Andy Schulz, Debra Gleason, Fay Vaughn and Dianna Madlock. Also by her grandchildren Crystal, Angela, Christopher, Kari, Mike Russell, Hailey, Felicia, Ryan, Stephanie, Tessa, Cortnie, Ethan, Dustin and Jessica. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren. Jean is preceded in death by her parents James and Anna Edel and her brother Vern. Jean was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a very giving woman always thinking of others, we will all miss her deeply.
