Jeffrey Irvin Michael Place entered this life and our family on February 14th 1995 at Douglas Community Hospital in Roseburg, Oregon. "The best Valentines Day present I've ever had or ever will have" I have said since the day he was born. Sadly on July 20th 2011 we lost our Heavy Metal Music Warrior in a tragic swimming accident, taken too soon from us to play in Gods Metal Band in Heaven. (I would have loved to see his face when he met Cliff Burton and Dimebag Darrell) Jeffrey was a loving soul, though he didn't look it to see him. From the time he came into this world he was affectionate and sweet despite himself and he gave the BEST hugs. He always played the part of the mediator and the peace maker, making sure every one got a fair shake. Assisting an elderly person to get something off the top shelf at a grocery store was not an uncommon thing for him, often catching them off guard wearing his Levi jacket with the sleeves cut off, a metal band shirt, tight black jeans and long curly hair along with the bright smile that accompanied the help. Always looking for the pleasantly surprised look he would get in return. When we found out that Jeffrey had sacrificed himself for his cousin, we were not surprised. Any one who knew Jeffrey knew of his absolute love of Metal Music. He tried to spread the word of Metal to any one who would listen and even some that wouldn't. His main goal in life was to become a Master Guitarist. His other interests were History, Military and guns; and he loved to watch the History & Military Channels and we often watched them together. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Irvin Place in 2004 and then by his Father, Jeffrey Ray Place in 2007. He is survived by his parents, Cheryl & Christopher Levens- Siblings, Lauren Rand, Ethan Sherwood, Brenton Levens, and Brittany & Bobby Bolyard.- Nephew, Douglas McClure III- Great Grandma, Marie Rand. Grandparents, Evelyn Place, Melvin & Kathy Rand, Carolyn (Nana) Levens and Larry and Connie Levens- Aunts & Uncles, Laura & Russ Ellison, Linda Emmerson, Michael Place, Larry Lostroh and Wendy & Jeff Davey.- Cousins, Dereck Ellison, Emily Rand Elison, Chelsea Ellison, Emily Pottruff, Little Larry, Leah and Koda Lostroh.- He also has countless Great Aunt's & Uncles, 2nd and 3rd cousins and close family friends; too many to list but you know who you are. He is also survived by his band mates and brothers in arms of Metal, Noah Hadnutt and Tye Zigler, whom he loved with all his heart! On July 30th 2011 from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm, the family is having a Celebration of Life to be held at the Riddle Community Building in Riddle, Oregon. All who knew Jeffrey or the family and would like to join us are welcome.
