Jerry Rueban Mills, 83, went home to be with our Lord in heaven December 19, 2014
Jerry was born June 3, 1931 in Canton North Carolina to Dan and Myrtle (Littrell) Mills. He joined the US Army and transferred to the US Air force serving in Korea and Vietnam Wars. He served his country for over 21 years retiring in 1974. Jerry received the Good Conduct medal, along with numerous other decoration and awards. He was a mechanic all his life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and being with his family. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, step father, Lonnie Stokes and a daughter, Teresa Mills Bahr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn, a daughter, Lori (Tracy) Ziegler of Anchorage, Alaska and a son, Blane (Linda) Mills of Myrtle Creek. Jerry is also survived by his sister Louella (Eddie) Ingram, two brothers Verlin and Bill (Violet) Mills along with 2 grandchildren Tonja (Derrel) Jones, Kimberly (John) Glenn, and five great grandchildren Bryce, Kenzie, Gavin Jones, Hailey Glenn and Selna Anthoney.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and the VA Medical Center for the care they provided Jerry.
