JIMMIE JUNIOR TVRDY 84 of Donald, Oregon passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was born October 16, 1927 in Buhl, Idaho to James Robert and Helen Martha (Kulik) Tvrdy. Jimmie graduated from Shoshone High School in 1946. In 1948 he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked as a Radio Operator and Sr. Radio Mechanic on B-29 Bombers until he was honorably discharged in 1952. Jimmie attended Idaho State College learning electronics. He worked for Philco; the National Security Agency and Elmendorf AFB. He later worked for the Federal Aviation Administration until he retired in 1994. Jim served as president of the Anchorage Amateur Radio Club, The Quarter Century Wireless Association and the South Central Radio Club. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and woodworking. He was an Amateur Radio Operator and held the call of KL7CDG for over 50 years. After moving to Oregon in 2007 he held the call of AD7PK. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Hasper Tvrdy of Donald, Oregon; children James, Patricia, Mary, Helen and Margaret all of Washington; stepchildren John, Lorna, Linda, Donald and David. Funeral services were held Friday, March 30, 2012 at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Pastor Bill Sanders officiated. Military honors provided by Beale AFB Honor Guard followed within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
