Joan Doren Powell, 74 , Executive Secretary, died at home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 10, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late James and Jeanette Gibson.
Joan is survived by her husband Patrick W. Powell, Oakland, OR, her daughter Kelley (Steve) Viscia, Napa, CA, her son Michael (Mindy)Corbin Galt, CA, her son Nico (Kathy) Gallegos, Alameda, CA, her stepdaughter Donna (Robert) English, Houston, Texas, her stepson Patrick (Michelle) Powell, FortHood, Texas, her sister Maureen (Ray) Erickson, Fremont, CA, her brother Harold (Linda) Gibson, Penryn, CA. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 great grand children, 5 nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her son Patrick S. Corbin.
Memorial service for Joan D. Powell will be held at Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses, 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2010 and a viewing from 09:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds can be offered to cancer research.
