Joan Colleen Smith

JOAN COLLEEN SMITH 61, of Sutherlin, Oregon passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at her home. She was born July 24, 1948 in Coquille, Oregon to Cleta M. and Joeseph L. Shely. Joan graduated from Coquille High School. She was a home health worker who enjoyed helping other people. Joan loved shopping, spending time with her daughter's and grandchildren, picking mushrooms, in the winter months you may have seen her sliding around on the hills and she found the Sutherlin Fox's Den a nice getaway. Joan has lived in Coquille, Oregon, Valdez, Alaska and for the past three years in Sutherlin. Survivors include her daughters DeAnn Hal's and her husband Joe of Sutherlin, Oregon, Vicky and Ryan Lack of Coquille, Oregon and Amanda Albertson and her husband Aron also of Sutherlin, Oregon; brother Patrick Shely and his wife Georgianna; grandchildren Timmy Hastings, Christopher Hastings, Joey Hal's, David Hal's, April Thomas, Miranda Lack, Emily Lack, Ben Lack, Brianna Reed, Katelynn Reed, Jasiah Albertson and Jonah Albertson. Private family services were held in Fairview, Oregon. The family would like to thank Roseburg Cancer Center, Dr. Luke Herscher and Sutherlin Drug.
