Joey C Sawyer

Age 54, joined his brother David A. Sawyer as he left our world suddenly on Monday, January 26, 2015, at River Bend hospital in Eugene OR, surrounded by family and close friends.

Joe was a big sports fan especially the Oregon Ducks. Even more than sports, he was his grandson Ryder Sawyer's greatest fan. He went to all of Ryder's sports events and supported him in all his endeavors. Ryder was the love of his life along with his son Sean Sawyer, Nephew Jonathan Gillespie and niece Jenna Gillespie. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting, as well as floating the river and boating.

Joe attended Roseburg High and Sutherlin High school.

He was a master painter working for Sawyer's painting and Sandblasting for most of his life.

In 2011, Joe attended UCC and received his GED, giving the graduating speech at the commencement ceremony. He loved to cook, and he was the families barbecue man.

Joe was loved, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his father and stepmom, Larry and Rani Sawyer; his mother Lucy Sawyer; sister Veronica and her husband Tom Gillespie; aunt's and uncles, Robert Sawyer, John and Irene Truijllo, Alex & Priscilla Truijllo, Caroline & Ester Truijllo.

Cousins Jim and Deanne Sawyer, Patty Conklin, Donald Sawyer, Michael Truijllo, Teresa Truijllo, Kathy Truijillo, and David Truijllo.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Garden Valley Church located at 3047 Garden Valley Roseburg, Or 97471, on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Service begins at 3 p.m. Potluck to follow.
