John Frederick Chandler, 92, of Roseburg passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the home of his daughter. He was born on February 17, 1919 to Perry Manuel and Nancy Olivene (Cantwell) Chandler in Seneca, Missouri. He married Rose Alice Matters on October 26, 1941. John and Rose moved to Sutherlin, Roseburg area in 1948 and he worked for Roseburg Lumber and Plickat Logging until he retired in March of 2007. He enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. John is survived by his daughter Karen Joan Kelley and son, David LeRoy Chandler along with 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by is wife, Rose Alice, a daughter, Darlene Mohlsick and a son, Lawrence Keith Chandler, he is also preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings, Leona Pearl, Mable Lee, Jemima Iola, Daisy Mildred, Mary Elizabeth, Leonard Earl, Delbert, Cecil Clyde, Perry Willis and William Albert At John's request no service will be held. Wilson's Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.
