John H. George, born September 26, 1920 and went home to be with the Lord March 12, 2010. While serving in the Army he met and fell in love with his wife Rosemary Thompson. They had 65 years of love and devotion until she went home to heaven on March 22, 2006. After serving 4 years in the military he received his Honorable Discharge on September 4, 1945. He spent two years overseas with the Army, before returning home. He retired from Roseburg lumber and was a hard working and very respected person. John loved his country, his Lord and his family. John and his wife had two daughters, Sunny Lamb of Tri-City and Dawn George of Roseburg, He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his brother in law and best friend George Thompson, brother in in law and sister in law, Almon and Virginia Terry. He loved his dogs and cats and they returned his love. John loved to fish and had many stories to tell of their fishing trips. He was always there for friends if they needed a strong shoulder to lean on. We miss his loving smile and kindness. John was looking forward to Heaven and being reunited with his loved ones. He is resting in the arms of jesus. A Funeral service will be Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 1 PM in the chapel at Wilson's chapel of the Roses with interment at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
