J. Robert Kayser Age 96, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012, at his home after a brief illness. John was born on April 12, 1915, in Berlin, Connecticut, to parents, John Henry Kayser and Lena Ebert. He graduated from Berlin High School in Connecticut in 1933. He also lived in Sacramento, California, before moving in 1988. He worked for Fafnir Bearing, New Britain, Connecticut for 45 years before retiring in 1980. Robert was an avid bowler, and enjoyed sailing, snow skiing, ice skating and golf. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Clarice Day in 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Parrick (husband, Robert) from Kingwood, Texas; son, Alan Kayser (wife, Karen) from Fort Myers, Florida; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses with a service to be held at 11 a.m. A burial will follow at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
