John W. Cox

John passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012. He was born July 10, 1952 to Wally and Vera Cox in Roseburg, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Minnie. He has two brothers, Robert Cox of Myrtle Creek, and Jim Coutts of Roseburg. John and Kathy married and raised five children, Minnie, Malisa, David, Kevin and Juanita. He had nine grandchildren, Abel, Linzi, Nathyn, Chris, Ryan, Scott, Cotty, Michael and Johnathon. John was a long time employee of Umpqua Community College where his passion as a groundskeeper was evident to anyone who worked at or visited the campus. His life was made complete by his favorite pastimes including fishing, shooting, spending time in the mountains and being as close to nature as possible. He and Kathy both enjoyed antique shopping and their Sundays together.
A day to remember John will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Umpqua Community College in Jacoby Auditorium at 2 p.m.
