Julie Ann Brizendine, 64, passed away Wednesday evening June 17th at her home in Roseburg, Oregon. Julie was born, raised, and lived in Roseburg. Born July, 5th 1955 to Ruth and Robert Ellenwood, she was the youngest of four siblings. On November 10, 1978, she was married to Rusty Brizendine enjoying each others company for the next 41 years upon her passing. Julie is survived by her only child Brent Brizendine, siblings Dale Ellenwood, Sharon Stone, Larry Ellenwood, husband Rusty and numerous nieces and nephews. Julie dedicated 31 years working for the Oregon State University Extension Service, helping her community and volunteering many extended hours to programs such as 4-H. Upon retiring, Julie opened her home to the love and laughter of children whom she would watch for friends. In 2003 Julie was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Given 2 to 5 years to live, Julie defied the odds for the next 17 years with the help of her many friends, positive attitude, and the loving care of her husband Rusty. Julie was a beacon of love and light, shining on many unconditionally. If you were one to have been fortunate enough to know her warmth of spirit, a service and celebration of life will be had on her 65th Birthday, Sunday July 5th, 2020 at River Forks Park at 2pm.
