Kay was born on May 21, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa, to Jurgen and Mari Ann Kroigaard. The family later moved to Central California, Coalinga and Fresno. Kay attended high school at Roosevelt High in Fresno. She finished her education at Fresno State College with degrees in Art and Primary Education.
Several years later, kay signed up to teach overseas for the Armed Forces. She taught in Okinawa, Germany and Tokyo, Japan.
Kay had a pretty good life, traveled in Europe, drove her VW convertible to Paris on spring break through the Alps. With the top down of course. Spent time in London, rode an elephant in India and spent a New Years Eve in Hong Kong on a floating restaurant. Bless her heart, Kay helped a lot of kids on Military bases.
Kay is survived by her husband, Lanny, son Norman Petri of Roseburg, daughter Ann Marie Reeve of Sweet Home, grandchildren Flynn Reeve and Beatrice Reeve of Sweethome.
The Roseburg VA will hold a flag service, in Kay's honor, May 19 at the Roseburg National Cemetery at 10am. All Veterans, family and friends are welcome to attend.
