Keith O. Van Krevelen, age 96, passed away at home of natural causes on October 26, 2014. He was born in Buffalo, MN to Frederick and Donna (Teas) Van Krevelen on December 9, 1917. After graduating from Granite Falls High School in Minnesota, he served in the US Army from February 1941 to February 1946, was in WWII, and saw action in North Africa and Italy as a Captain. Upon returning home, he attended college at the University of Washington and graduated as a pharmacist December 1948. He had lived in Roseburg for 55 years coming here from Yoncalla, OR where he owned a drug store for 10 years. He retired from Harvard Avenue Drugs, owned by dear friends Phil and Jo Kaser, at age 80 to do one of the things he loved most - golf. Keith was an avid sports fan, reader and honest, truly good man. He married Mary L. Jones on June 15, 1941 at Camp Clairborne, LA and were together for 45 years when she passed away on October 13, 1986.
Survivors include his daughters: Kay Van Krevelen and Jo Van Krevelen both of Roseburg; granddaughters: Melanie (Bob) McCormick of Huntsville, AL, Melissa (Chris) McGhee of Roseburg, OR and Robin (DJ Pefley) Ashley of Sutherlin, OR. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Pauline Van Krevelen of Crystal, MN; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, Ken Davis and Tony Giudici. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Durand (Bea) Van Krevelen and Donald Van Krevelen. There will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children International or The Heritage Foundation.
