Keone John Wellington Peiper IV, 26 of Sutherlin and formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in a logging accident. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 22, 1985 to John W. III and Debra Peiper. He was a graduate of Pearl City High School and had attended Southwestern Oregon Community College. He enjoyed most sports and especially loved football and soccer. Keone moved to Coos Bay to attend college, where he eventually met the love of his life Rochelle in 2006. They were married in 2009. He joined the Oregon Army National Guard in 2008 and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was deactivated in 2011 and returned to Sutherlin to make this his home. Keone was employed by Allen and Gibbons Logging. He was planning to return to active duty when his contract with the National Guard ended. Keone is survived by his wife of almost 3 years, Rochelle, and daughter, Noelani of Sutherlin, his father and stepmother; John Peiper and Amanda Allison of Hawaii, his mother; Debra Peiper of Hawaii, a sister Kealani Peiper of Hawaii and his Grandfather, John Peiper Jr. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother- in-law, Dave Thomas and Dusty Ring of Sutherlin. A Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2 PM at the Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses with Full Military Honors by the Oregon Army National Guard Honor Guard. A reception will follow the service at the Eagle's Club, 116 E Second Ave., Sutherlin OR. Interment will be at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
