Leroy A Martin

LeRoy Allen Martin 82, of Sutherlin, Oregon passed away after a short illness on December 12, 2010. He was born December 20, 1927 to parents, Wilbert and Lucy Martin in Juniata, Nebraska. LeRoy married Annie Pina on January 9, 1949 in Napa, California. He is survived by his wife, Annie and four children, Linda Lasota and husband Michael of Seward, Alaska, Diane Ocumpaugh and husband Richard of Sutherlin Oregon, Kathy Martin and partner Lory Humbert of Keiser, Oregon, and son, Mike Martin of Sitka, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, James Martin. He was proud of his grandchildren, Tom Ocumpaugh and wife Therese, Tammi Ocumpaugh, Dusti and Miles Martin, Christopher Martin and Jamie Thompson. He enjoyed visits by his great-grand children Jacob and Olivia Ocumpaugh, Justin and Allyssa Thompson and Tanner Martin. Also survived by his sister, Donnes Harper and husband Ed of Napa, California, numerous family members in Oregon, Idaho, California, Washington, Ohio, and Kentucky. LeRoy's favorite pastime was playing cards on Tuesdays with his poker buddies. His hobbies included gardening and taking care of his fish pond. LeRoy was in the construction industry for 35 years in California and Oregon. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday December 17, 2010 at 2:30pm at Sutherlin Senior Center. Private interment for family to proceed. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Amedisys Hospice of Roseburg, American Heart Association or Community Cancer Center.
