Lillian A. Baker
Lillian Baker of Roseburg Oregon slipped peacefully into the arms of God on Saturday May 1 at Lisa's Loving Care where she resided for the past year.
She was born May 22, 1924 in Peoria Illinois to Carl and Elsie Johnson, the third of four children. In March 1945, she married John R. Baker. They lived in the St. Louis Missouri area where she was a homemaker as well as a school bus driver for 10 years. They moved to Branson Missouri in the 1970's, then to Coeur d' Lane Idaho in the 1980's and finally to Roseburg in 1990.
She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed having visitors, cooking, yard work, shopping and her cats.
She is survived by brothers, Lloyd and Gene, sons Tom and David, grandchildren Kristen, Stephen and Bryce and great grandchild Claira Dawn. Lillian was preceded in death by one brother Dwight and her husband John of 47 years.
An open house will be held May 22 from 2-5 pm at David Baker's home. The address is 3220 W. Shasta Ave. in Roseburg. Her remains will be taken to Springfield Missouri in June and buried next to her husband at the VA Cemetery.
It is requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Salvation Army or Amedisys Hospice of Roseburg.
