Linda Ellen Leavitt 62, of Roseburg, passed away after a three year battle with lung cancer. She was born on May 22nd 1946, in Glen Cove Landing, New York to Clarence and Lillian Dayton. In 1986 she moved from New York to Oregon to be closer to her parents. She loved garage saling, plants, gardening, camping, barbeques and people, especially her grandchildren. She was a walking miracle, and touched many people's lives. On July 25th, 1999 she married Kenneth F. Leavitt in a beautiful ceremony in front of friends and family. She had four children, Danette (Elliot), Tara (Jerry), Jocelyn (Steve), Don. She is survived by her husband, Kenny; his two daughters, Charlene and Christine and step daughter Tracy. She has three sisters, Diane Gabrinowitz of New York, Carol (Dave) Mathis her twin sister, and June (Bill) McFarland of Roseburg. She had one brother, Dick (Kathy) Dayton of New York. She had ten grandchildren; Chantal, Brandon, Jordan, Taylor, Harrison, Hannah, Hayden, Charysma, Dax and Brandilyn. Linda was an active member of Hucrest Community Church of God. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday August 9th, 2008 at 2pm at Hucrest Community Church of God. After the service, there will be a barbeque following at River Forks Park at 4pm please bring your own lawn chairs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for outstanding medical expenses at any Umpqua Bank or mailed directly to the home of Linda.
