Lorraine Ann Davis

August 26, 1953 — July 14, 2016

Age 62, of Yoncalla, Oregon, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Roseburg on July 14, 2016. She was born in Pensacola, Florida, on August 26, 1953, and graduated from Del Norte High School in Crescent City, California, in 1971. She was married to her husband David Davis in Auburn, Washington, on September 20, 1972, and their two sons Glen and Robert were both born in Auburn in 1976, and 1978, respectively.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Paul and Peter Downing in 1989, and 2010, respectively; and by her father, Robert Downing in 2011.

She is survived by her mother, Erma Downing of Gasquet, California; a brother James Downing of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister Salina Cox of Gasquet; a sister Nancy De Jesus of Grants Pass; a son Robert Davis of Lake Wales, Florida; a son Glen Davis of Auburn; and her husband Dave Davis of Yoncalla. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Theofona age 14, Maria age 13, Shena age 12, and Haley age 10.

Her death was a result of brain cancer, which lasted 133 days from first diagnosis to final breath. Through the entire time, Lorrie was always in good humor, always of pleasant disposition and she always kept her chin up, in full faith and assurance that she would either be healed or that she would go home to her Lord Jesus. She was content with either possibility.

She was much loved by everyone who knew her, and she will be greatly missed for a long time.

She will be honored and remembered at a memorial service at the Drain Nazarene Church, at the North end of Cedar Street in Drain, on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 5 p.m.
