Wilma Lucille "Street" Douthitt age 69, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on April 30, 2012 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1943 in Astoria, OR to Thomas and Charlene Street. She grew up in Roseburg and graduated from Roseburg High School in 1961. She married the love of her life, John William Douthitt on October 2, 1965.
She had a passion and a love for music which began at the age of 9 when she began playing the piano. By age 16, she started her first band. She continued captivating audiences around the west coast for many years.
Lucille retired from Safeway in 2009. She loved books, movies, puzzles and Taco Bell! Lucille had a wonderful sense of humor and her laugh was infectious. But most of all she loved her family for which she was truly devoted. Her precious loving memories and her legacy of music will be carried on by her four children, Serena (Dana) Smart of Riddle; Wade (Dawn) Douthitt of Roseburg; Holly (Dana) Foley of Sutherlin; and Dalice (Alan) Wilcox of Federal Way, WA; sister, Tommie Sue (John) Mounts of Roseburg; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and a granddaughter.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 1 p.m., Westside Christian Church. Reception following.
