Lucretia Elnor Dyck (Goff)

September 10, 1920 — September 5, 2017

Lucretia Elnor Ross-Dyck passed peacefully onto heaven on September 5, 2017; five days before her 97th birthday. She was born to Carlton and Bernice Goff on the family farm near Oakland, Oregon. She graduated from Oakland High and married Floyd W. Ross. From that marriage two daughters were born. Floyd passed after nearly 39 years of marriage. She later married Vern Dyck who passed in 1999. Lu lived in Douglas County her entire life, spending the last 56 years on the Ross Ranch in Umpqua, Oregon. She'd traveled a good portion of the world, bringing home stories of cuisine; in her later years she said there was nowhere else she'd rather be than at home.

Lu was an elder in the Oakland Presbyterian Church, singing with gracious and exceptional beauty in the choir for decades. She was also a 66 year members in the Oakland chapter 91 of Eastern Star. She also volunteered at the Oakland Museum. Lu worked for the US Forest Service for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Always patient, gentle and kind, never an unkind word; she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lu was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; brother, Byron Goff; and son-in-law, Frank Terry. She is survived by daughters, Connie Terry and Kitty (Howard) Grauf; step-daughters, Lori Kelly, Liane Lawrence and Kelly Dusenbury; beloved grandchildren, Tracy Grauf and Jeannie Hughes; step-grandchildren, Krys, Brenda, Jason Terry, Renee Cunningham, Kevin and Sean Kelly, Mica and Julian Ross, Ezra Dusenbury; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the historic Calapooia Church on Scot Henry Rd, Oakland, OR. Donations may be made to the Oakland Museum, PO Box 624, Oakland, OR 97462.
