MADELINE D. CLARK 95, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born to Siona (Burkett) and William Russell, their third child, on January 21, 1922 in Ogden, Utah. Madeline loved her square dancing in her younger years and did many types of crafts, her favorite working with many types of beads. She loved giving her creations to family and friends. After her retirement she took up making ceramic dolls. Madeline loved camping and boating with husband and best friends. She joined the YMCA in 2005 and met many of her friends there. Madeline met her first husband, Earl Duncan, while working at a taxi cab company in Grand Junction, Colorado. When they married they moved to the mountains where Earl worked in the mines. They had three children, Barbara (Duncan) Geary, Peggy (Duncan) Hintz, both born in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Joseph Duncan born in Hawthorne, California. In 1942 they moved to Hawthorne, California where her husband found work with Northrop Aircraft Corporation. When her children were older, she went to work in the defense industries doing soldering work at the end of her career she was working for the Lockheed Corporation in Sunnyvale, California. Madeline married her second husband Howard Clark in 1960, and they moved to Freemont, California where they lived for 41 years. Upon the death of her husband, she moved to Roseburg, Oregon in 2003 and lived next door to her daughter Peggy, for the remainder of her life. Madeline is survived by her three children Barbara of Lawndale, California, Peggy of Roseburg, Oregon and Joseph of Auburn, California; two step-children Gary Clark and Larry Clark living in the Sacramento, California area; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Madeline was very well liked by all who met her, she will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. She will be buried next to her husband Howard within the grounds of the Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, California. Please visit
