Mamie Marie A. Storms Crane

MAMIE MARIE A. STORMS CRANE 98 of Sutherlin, Oregon passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Applegate Place in Sutherlin. She was born May 28, 1912 in Clearfield, South Dakota to Leonard and Mabel Storms. On December 28, 1943 Mamie married Loyd Crane. The Cranes moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1946. In 2004, Mamie moved to Sutherlin, Oregon. Mamie worked as a Sorority housekeeper and as a clerk in a fabric store. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, playing cards, word search puzzles and spending time with her family. Mamie was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church while living in Eugene and while living in Sutherlin was a member of Sew and Sews. Survivors include her daughter Joan Taylor of Umpqua, Oregon; sister Mary Jorgensen; grandchildren Joel and Shayna Taylor; great grandchildren Shakiya and Aysiah and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loyd in 1961; sisters Clara Frank, Gen Fast, Emerald Diez and Cecilia Kartak; brothers Leo and Donald Storms and her son-in-law Ray Taylor in 2009. A graveside service will be held June 16, 2011 at the St. Boniface Cemetery in Clearfield, South Dakota. A celebration of Mamie's life will be held August 20, 2011 at Joan's home, 6276 Tyee Road in Umpqua.
