Margaret "Yvonne" Long
Yvonne was 75 years old when she passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015. She was bon on January 25, 1939 to Oliver H. and Naomi "Susie" (White) Goodwin in Lebanon, OR. Yvonne grew up in Sweet Home, OR and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1957. She was in the Pep Club in high school, she was Worthy Advisor of Rainbow Girls, and was crowned Frontier Queen her senior year. She was also active in choir and played the piano. After high school, she attended Beauty College and became a beautician. Yvonne met her husband, Sylvan Gene Long, in October of 1956 and were married on July 19, 1958. They lived in Sweet Home, OR for the first years and then moved to Roseburg where they made their home for the next 55 years. Sylvan and Yvonne were blessed with a son, Bradley Gene Long, and a daughter, Susan Michelle Long. Yvonne loved to knit and crochet. She made countless items for friends, family, and charities. She retired from Roseburg High School after decades of working in the Main Office. She was a member of Westside Christian Church and loved her church family. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Irby, and son-in-law Craig Irby of West Linn, OR; sister, Sharon Inselman of AZ; daughter-in-law, Mindy Miele of Winchester. Grandsons: Scott Weaver of Junction City; Derek Irby, Grant Irby and Craig Irby Jr. of West Linn; and Morgan Long-Miele of Winchester. Granddaughters: Bailey Long-Miele and Sydney Long-Miele of Winchester; Cassandra and Francesca Irby of Portland. Great grandchildren: Elin and Jordin of Junction City; Ezekiel and Allesandra of Portland. Five nieces, four nephews. A sister-in-law, Joanne Long of Salem; brothers-in-laws Glen Inselman of AZ and Alton Pedersen of Virginia. Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Susie Goodwin; her husband, Sylvan Long; son, Bradley Long; and two brothers, Leroy and Durrell Goodwin.

A visitation will be held at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses, 965 West Harvard, Roseburg, OR on Friday, January 23, 2015 between 3:00-6:00 pm and Saturday, January 24, 2015 between 9:00-11:00 am.
A funeral service will be held at Westside Christian Church, 2712 West Harvard Ave, Roseburg, OR on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Belcrest Memorial Park, 1295 Browning Ave South, Salem, OR on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1:00pm.
