Born in Schrns, Austria, the 4th of 18 children born to Karl Gustav & Maria Marent-Biedermann, and Sophie Knig-Biedermann. Moved across the border to Liechtenstein in 1931. Immigrated to the USA in 1948, obtaining citizenship in 1954. On May 24th, 1952 she married Louis Kraaz, a Swiss native, in Maywood, CA. They resided in Artesia, CA until moving with their 6 children to Roseburg, OR in 1964. She lived in the Roseburg area until moving into Gateway Living in Springfield, OR in 2012.
Marguerith was preceded in death by 12 siblings, twin baby daughters Barbara Ann and Rose Marie (1955), and her beloved husband Louis (1991).
She is survived by five siblings; Guenter, Gertrud (CA), Beatrice, Bernadette, and Niklaus (Liechtenstein); also her six children and their spouses, Louis (Kevin) Kraaz, Springfield; Heidi (James) Mason, Roseburg; Veronica (David) Smith, Glide; Charlotte (Kenneth) Barley, Springfield; Pia (Alan) Knight, Folsom, CA; and Frank (Carolyn) Kraaz, Yamhill; 19 grandchildren, Chris, David, Erik, Bryon, April, Jennifer, Aaron, Louis Jr, Christopher, Joseph, Toby, Heidi, Amy, Kelly, Tyler, Amber, Scott, Nicholas and Kyle; and 7 Great-Grandchildren, Bryce, Mackenzie, Taylor, Hazel, Ingrid, Brett and Kathryn.
Marguerith leaves a legacy of undeniable Love and Faith to her family who adored her beyond words. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Marguerith's name to your local Hospice, and/or to Catholic Community Services of Lane County. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Roseburg on Friday September 5th at 9:00 am, Marguerith's 91st birthday.
