Age 97, of Roseburg, Oregon, (previously Hudson, Wisconsin) passed away at a local nursing home on Friday, March 18, 2011, after living a full life. Her parents were Carson and Mary Ellen Chase of Ironwood, Michigan. Schools: Little Girls Point grade school and Luther L. Wright High School, both of Ironwood, Michigan.
Marion moved to Roseburg in 1996. She is survived by her son, Dennis Lee Baker, who resides at Rose Haven Nursing facility; one daughter, Mary Ellen (Plant) Steele and her husband, Curt of Roseburg; granddaughter, Dianne; friend, Mike Pope; a great-grandson, Chris and a great great-grandson, Isaiah, all from Sutherlin, Oregon; and a dear friend, Bill Hudak of Bly, Oregon. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry in 1955 and 10 siblings. She loved to oil and water paint pictures, garden and do woodworking projects. She did correspondence and extension courses through the University of Minnesota and River Falls, Wisconsin. She held numerous positions, working at the 1st National Bank of Hudson for 16 years, volunteered at the St. Croix County Office on Aging for 13 years, Senior Outreach Studies at Univ. of Wisconsin., Mercy Rebekahs Lodge #80 in Hudson, Wisconsin, Phipps Center for the Arts Guild, National Women's Club, Willow River State Park, Organization of Wild Life Living State Park, Hudson Prairie Women's Club, and the Methodist Church Martha Circle.
She was grateful to everyone for all their support and prayers. Marion was the sweetest little lady you'd ever want to meet.
