Marjorie Agnes Davis

August 6, 1915 — March 7, 2012

Marjorie went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2012. Marjorie was born August 6, 1915 in Taintor, Iowa to Claude and Eva Longaker. She was the seventh of nine loving brothers and sisters: Faye, Willard, Kenneth, Keith, Louise, Lorene, Mary, and Dwight. They were raised on a farm in Taintor and moved to Canon City, Colorado when she was six. She received her education in Canon City and married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Gordon Davis in 1936.
Gordon and Marjorie moved to Guernsey, Wyoming in 1941 where they raised their three children and lived for over fifty years. Marjorie worked in the Oregon Trail Bank where she greeted everyone with her warm smile. She was an active member of the Guernsey Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir, playing the organ, teaching Sunday school, and working side by side with her dear friends making homemade noodles for fundraisers for the church. She served the Lord lovingly her whole life. She was also active in GAU Woman's Club, Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, and played a very crafty hand of Bridge. There were always freshly baked goodies waiting for anyone stopping by to visit. The favorite with her grandchildren was her homemade applesauce.
After Gordon went to his heavenly home in 1986, Marjorie moved to Roseburg, Oregon in 1994.
While in Roseburg, she was active in the Presbyterian Church and volunteering in the community.
She enjoyed many senior trips and after church lunches with her jet set to lunch bunch. Marjorie always said her "greatest joy and blessing" was her family. She will always be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her sons, Jerry Davis (Vicki), Tom Davis (Jolynn); and her daughter, Marjean Zeiser (Denny); grandchildren, Lori Yakuche (Eric), T.J. Davis, Matthew Davis (Reeah), Brooke Buckingham (Sam), Ivy and Eden Davis, Noah and Nicole Zeiser, and Andrea Hanchey (Drew); great-grandchildren Matthew McGinley (Dru), and Shannon McGinley, Chase and Katie Jo Buckingham, Basil Davis, Zachary, Colby, Rylan, and Ashlyn Hanchey; and one great great-grandson, Reese McGinley. She also will be honored by many, many special nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held March 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Roseburg
