Maudine Marie Perry was born March 14th 1927 in Joplin MO. Her mother Lela Bell Perry and father Thomas Jefferson Lee Perry resided in Carl Junction near Joplin. Her and her sisters Birdie , Betty, and Clara were raised in Carl junction, they later moved near San Francisco where the girls attended school and worked to help support the family. This is where she at the age of 14, while working in a gas station, met her husband to be, Robert David Lee Perry. Robert was smitten from the beginning and after helping Maudine get through high school they were married. They moved to Inglewood, CA to live near family. They raised two children Joanne Marie Perry and Thomas Lee Perry before moving to Roseburg OR in the early 70’s. In Roseburg they lived a full life. Maudine worked at the VA hospital in Roseburg OR until the day of retirement. During that time she went back to school got her BS in nursing and her RN designation. She was also very active In the Roseburg Elks Lodge, and one of the starting figures of the Douglas County Cancer Services. After retirement, she cared for Robert who went through many years fighting cancer. Thankful to the many friends and of course family that stayed close and cared for her after his passing in 2003 she lived a wonderful life here in Roseburg. Maudine passed on June 18, 2023 quietly and in her sleep. Her passing, was actually a wonderful thing. The last few years of her life have not been so pleasant. God bless her and we hope she enjoys the rest of eternity with her family and friends in heaven.
