Michael Douglas Mccoy

June 3, 1988 — March 24, 2014

Michael Douglas McCoy

Born June 3, 1988, to Rod and Rosy McCoy in Twin Falls, Idaho. Mike was the older twin brother by 1 minute. He was called "big Gus" and then there came "little Susie" Nick.

His older sister Darcy was waiting patiently for her baby brothers to return home by cutting out lots of diaper coupons. Boy was she surprised that those babies needed her to help from diapering to feeding.

After a while, Darcy felt she had enough and it was time to flush them both down the toilet!! But I guess this did not happen.

Mike spent his early years of his life in Hailey, Idaho. In 1990, Mike and his family moved to a beautiful ranch in Dixonville, Oregon. He attended Deer Creek Elementary and Glide High School. Mike graduated from Roseburg High School in 2006. While growing up on the ranch the McCoy Boys were always in mischief, they were virtually inseparable. Mike was not only Nick's twin brother, but they were best friends. Mike was Nick's mentor and confidant. Mike was always building something at the ranch, like trying to build go-carts with scraps of old wood and scraps of metal around the ranch. One time I found Mike and Nick out on the old pond playing "Huckleberry Finn" was so scared the raft would sink but Mike assured me it wouldn't, because he built it. When someone would come to the ranch it was always for Mike and Nick the "McCoy boys". All of Mikes friends loved to come to the ranch so many things to do or should I say "tear up stuff". Mike worked on the ranch at a very young age doing chores, being in 4-H, feeding animals and of course wanting to drive anything that moved. Mike learned to work hard and this helped him throughout his life. Mike worked at various jobs including at Safeway, Coastal and his side job was always building fences for a little extra money. Michael worked at various logging mills around Roseburg area and finally for Swanson Lumber in Glendale, where he became a heavy equipment shovel operator. He loved this job and enjoyed playing with the big "Tonka Toys".

Mike had a great love of the outdoors and the McCoy boys had lots of adventures four wheeling on the coast, and the faster the better. Though he had no formal training in mechanics, he always seemed to be able to start any motor or fix any machine, car or truck that wouldn't start. Michael had a way to say give me a screw driver or old piece of farm wire to try to fix anything. Mike had this charming smile and a big heart, always willing to help others who were in need. Those who knew him well knew to expect a genuine rib crunching bear hug from him. He loved all and had many friends.

Mike is survived by his wife Audrey and soon to be born daughter Emily Rose, of Grants Pass; his twin brother Nick and Cheyenne of Hugo; his sister Darcy and her husband Keith and nephew Kyle, of Salem, Oregon; his mother Rosy McCoy and Fred Uggla, Roseburg, Oregon; father Rod McCoy and wife Jade, his grandmother Shirley McCoy, all of Buhl, Idaho; and his uncles, Randy McCoy, Buhl, Idaho and Don Stallsmith of Pocatello.

A memorial service will be on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2 p.m., at the Church on the Rise, 3500 NE Diamond Lake Blvd, Roseburg.

We would like to thank all our friends and family for your love and support. We know that he is looking down on us from Heaven. He will always be loved and missed very much.
