IN LOVING MEMORY OF MILDRED LONG
MILDRED PEARL LONG 94, of Sutherlin, Oregon went home to be with her Lord after a lengthy battle with cancer on Friday, March 26, 2010. She was born October 26, 1915 in Linneus, Missouri to Fon and Dolly Harvey. On January 8, 1935 she married Vernon Long, who preceded her in death. They had five children, Jerry Long, Robert Long, Barbara Nay, Patricia Hale and William Long. Mildred was preceded in death by her threes sons, sister, two brothers and a granddaughter Mary Lou. Survivors include her daughters Barbara Nay and her husband Ned of Roseburg, Oregon and Patricia Hale and her husband Calvin of Springfield, Oregon; two daughters-in-laws Jeanette Long of Oakland, Oregon and Charlynn Long of Montague, California; brother Harold Harvey of Littleton, Colorado; ten grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren and eighteen great great grandchildren. Mildred will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wished to express their thanks to her neighbors who have provided unwavering help and comforting presence throughout her illness. They would also like to thank her doctors and the Mercy Hospice team. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Oakland, Oregon. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Mildred's memory to the Melrose Community Church benevolent fund. Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.
