Nancy S. Junkin

NANCY S. JUNKIN 64, passed away peacefully at home with her husband after a valiant battle with cancer, on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Nancy was born August 3, 1947 in Long Beach, California to parents Neal S. and Mary Zokosky Steffen. She graduated from Buena Ventura High School in 1965. As a varsity swimmer, she was never defeated in the breast stroke competition. Nancy volunteered for the Vista program and served 2 years before returning home; she then graduated from the United Airlines Stewardess Academy where she served for 2 years. She was a member of the Winston Post 9745 Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered her time serving veterans and working in the kitchen where she shared many a laugh with her auxiliary sisters. Nancy was a successful business woman and owner of Pacific NW Computer Services since 1990. Survivors include her husband Robert Junkin; twin brother Neal Steffen of Santee, California; sister Rebecca Steffen of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Stella Dobson and her husband Larry of Roseburg, Oregon; son Allen P Roberts of Portland, Oregon; daughter Mary Patricia Junkin PAC of Portland, Oregon; grandsons Ranlett (Randy) Godfrey of Roseburg, Oregon and Kevin Godfrey of Eugene, Oregon. A celebration of life will be held June 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. A potluck will follow from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Winston VFW Post 9745, 570 SW Douglas Blvd in Winston, Oregon.
