Neava “Nadine” Bock (Morgan)
May 26, 1940 – December 1, 2023
Neava “Nadine” Bock graduated peacefully up to Heaven with her girls and her brother at her side, on December 1, 2023 at her Callahan Village home. She was 83.
Nadine was born on May 26, 1940 in Pomeroy Washington to Lester and Margarite Morgan (Denton). After living in several locations in Washington, the family moved to Azelea Oregon on Upper Cow Creek Road. This is where Nadine met the love of her life, Charles Robert Bock (Chuck). They were united in Holy Matrimony on April 28, 1956 at the home of Bob and Mary Conley, only two weeks before Chuck was to leave for basic training. During that time, Nadine set up housekeeping at Fortune Branch in Glendale/Azelea, and took to raising two of her younger siblings while their parents took a job in Texas. When Chuck finished his two-year tour in the Army, he returned home to “his Cookie”, as he would often call her.
After five years of marriage, they welcomed their first daughter, Dolores Diane into their little Glendale home. Tina Marie was born just shy of two years later. Chuck and Nadine moved their family up Little River above Glide Or. where they lived when Cindy Lou entered the world and the family became five. It didn’t matter where they lived, Nadine would make it a home. But in December of 1964, Chuck and Nadine moved onto William Street in Glide and Debbie Lynn was born, making their family of six complete. Nadine filled her years as a housewife and mother. She was a great seamstress and would make the girls school clothes when they were younger, and prom and special event dresses later. She fashioned a wedding dress for each of her girls, and one of her granddaughters. Each as beautiful and as elegant as the last. Nadine taught her girls to always look their best; and why it was so important to always see your husband off to work. As a logger’s wife, you never knew if it would be your last “I love you.”
Their Glide property would be home for the remainder of their lives. The old shed that housed their pool table, holds many memories. Memories of little girls bouncing on the pogo-stick or hippity-hop. And of family and friends of all ages, who gather around the pool table, sharing stories and laughter. All were welcome as long as you respected their house rules. She cared for both, her mom and her Mother-in-law until their deaths.
Nadine loved to sew, bake, crochet and made beautiful bead jewelry and decorations. She enjoyed fishing and hunting and picnicking with the family and with her special friends, Betty Keffer, and Marge and Maurice Miller.
Nadine was preceded in death by the love of her life Chuck, on July 13, 2022 after 66 years of marriage. She was also preceded by both of her parents, three brothers, Jerry, Terry and Jim Morgan and one sister Barbara West, and all of chuck’s immediate family. She was also preceded by an infant granddaughter, LeLonni and an infant grandson, Josiah, and by her best buddy, Betty.
She leaves behind, one remaining brother, Dennis (Christine) Morgan. She leaves her four daughters, Dolores (Jack) Faas of Myrtle Creek, Or., Tina (Lonnie) Saxton of Sutherlin, Or., Cindy (Tony) Heckard of Canby, Or. and Debbie (Jeff) Pynch of Roseburg, Or. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Jacoby, Laura, Clarissa, Melodye, Esther, Charlie, Zachariah, Rachel and Justina, and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Umpqua Rehabilitation and Callahan Village for their love and care that was poured out on our mom. And to Chapel of Roses for their final arrangements. ~ Dolores, Tina, Cindy and Debbie
